As if it’s not enough that many schools refuse to teach toddlers about the primacy of man-woman marriage, a shocking case has emerged highlighting just how deeply gender ideology has infiltrated British education.

The Telegraph recently revealed that a toddler—aged just three or four—was suspended from nursery for alleged “abuse against sexual orientation and gender identity”. It seems unimaginable, yet this disturbing incident is symptomatic of a broader crisis facing our society.

Just a generation ago, legislation (‘Section 28’) prohibited schools from promoting LGBT ideology—a stark contrast to the current scenario, where even very young children face suspension for not conforming to it.

The Telegraph report confirms this is far from an isolated incident: in 2022–23 alone, 94 primary pupils faced suspension or expulsion for “transphobic or homophobic” behaviour, including children as young as four and five. Helen Joyce from Sex Matters called this development “too crazy to believe” and condemned school leaders for projecting adult beliefs onto very young children.

Lord Young, director of the Free Speech Union, rightly warns that such rigid and dogmatic policies ‘beggar belief’. Children, barely past infancy, are now being subjected to a radical ideology that seeks not only to redefine marriage but to redefine reality itself.

We must demand an end to this harmful ideological nonsense. Children must once again be taught clearly and robustly about the relationship proven to consistently deliver the best outcomes for parents, children, and society—real marriage, between one man and one woman.
