DOES JORDAN PETERSON’S ARC HAVE A HOLE IN IT?

I attended the recent ARC conference, where popular Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson expressed his and ARC’s opinion that the fundamental unit of civilised society is “long-term, stable, married, monogamous, heterosexual child-centred marriages”. Dr Peterson articulated similar thoughts in a recent Spectator interview where he says “the nuclear family – man, woman and child – is the minimal viable family”.
However, in this third part of my recent interview, with sociologist and author Gabriele Kuby, she makes clear that there is a significant contradiction in Peterson’s stance. While advocating strongly for traditional man-woman marriage, he simultaneously supports the concept of same-sex ‘marriage’ and surrogate parenting, fundamentally undermining his stated goals. Please listen to my brief but important interview with Kuby to find out more.
Kuby draws attention to Peterson’s contradictory stance regarding same-sex marriage and surrogacy. She specifically criticises his view that marriage can include same-sex unions. We discuss her open letter to Peterson published on LifeSiteNews. In it, she asserts that Peterson’s endorsement of same-sex parenting “betrays innocent children”. Kuby firmly argues that true marriage is exclusively between a man and a woman.
She further critiques Peterson’s claim that same-sex marriage is now embedded within the structure of marriage itself, calling this idea “just untrue”.
Peterson additionally overlooks the profound impact on broader society that results from removing gender and reproductive purpose from the concept of marriage. Such removal ultimately dismantles the essential meaning of marriage itself.
Genuine marriage, Kuby maintains, is indispensable as the fundamental unit for raising healthy, secure children.
At C4M, we recognise that preserving the authentic definition of marriage—one man and one woman—is critical to maintaining its essential role in nurturing stable families and healthy societies. Defending this truth is not only about safeguarding children’s rights but also about stemming societal decline and promoting genuine and lasting cultural renewal. Let’s hope the ARC gets fixed.
